Will Jonez is a Philadelphia based lighting designer and graduate of Temple University.
He believes strongly that light should be used to further the action on stage, not solely make it visible. Light is an important part of the overall aesthetic mood of a show, and should be used to help settle the audience into the world of the piece, without distracting from the importance of the action of the show. Will enjoys taking an avant-garde approach to design, using unusual instruments, techniques, and colors to emphasize the story being told on stage. He especially enjoys working on non-traditional theatre, whether it be a devised movement or dance piece, an adaptation of a classic through music and song, a text based original work, or any combination of the three.
